Magnus joined Manches in 1998 and became a partner at the end of 2005. He has a degree in law from Bristol University and has completed the family law subjects of a Masters Degree in Law at Kings College, London. As well as a member of the UK family lawyers’ association, Resolution, Magnus is also a member of the International Bar Association, where he lectures on a wide range of family and wealth protection issues.
Magnus has expertise in all aspects of private family law including divorce, separation, matrimonial finance, children, cohabitation, pre-nuptial and separation agreements. He has particular expertise in financial cases with an international element, complex financial structures and/or substantial assets — Magnus has been worked with many jurisdictions around the world, including Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, USA, Canada, Australia, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and, of course, most countries in Europe.
Magnus is described in the Legal 500 as "excellent". He has worked in numerous “big money” cases including the reported cases of Lambert v Lambert [2002] and GW v RW [2003], and the reported "huge money" case of Charman [2006/7].
Magnus also has substantial experience of matters involving international child relocation, and cases involving alleged abduction.
Magnus is a keen sportsman, enjoying among other sports tennis, football and golf; more recently he has developed an interest in triathlons. When he needs a rest, Magnus enjoys travel and the theatre. |
