The LPC
The LPC and our choice of colleges
After careful consideration, we have made the decision that, where possible, we would prefer our future trainees to attend the following colleges:
- Future London trainees - Kaplan Law School in London
- Future Oxford trainees - The Oxford Institute of Legal Practice (OXILP)
Therefore, if after our interview process, which takes place in August and September each year, you are offered and accept a training contract with Manches, then you should attend apply to either Kaplan or OXILP for your LPC.
- If you have already applied and/or committed to a different college for this coming September and are intending applying to us for a training contract, then you can either choose to switch to Kaplan or OXILP now (we can highly recommend them whichever firm you end up going to), or, if after the interviewing process in August and September we offer you a training contract place and you accept, then we would discuss at that stage the possibility of transferring you to Kaplan or OXILP.
- If you have already completed or are in the process of completing your LPC at a different college, please note that this does not prevent or disadvantage you from applying to Manches for a summer scheme place or training contract.
The GDL
It is not a requirement to attend Kaplan or OXILP for your GDL, but if you are still considering which college to choose for this course, then we do highly recommend Kaplan and OXILP as our preferred choices.
Funding
We offer funding for both GDL and LPC course fees and a small maintenance grant for students who are still to take, or who have recently commenced, either course.
